While traveling overseas to Sao Paulo Brazil in November 2017 and also twice in the year of 2018. I was very fortunate enough to acquire a very special sourdough starter ! This is a very unique starter that was made using the waters from Iguazu falls. Iguazú Falls or Iguaçu Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of Paraná. Together, they make up the largest waterfall system in the world. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. Together, they make up the largest waterfall system in the world !!

After seeing the falls for myself as well as Niagra Falls.  I can honestly say Iguazú Falls, "is the most beautiful!" They are taller than Niagara Falls (and four times as wide) “Poor Niagara!”. And it's located in the Amazon rainforest.

For this trip I had to obtain a Visa in NYC , waiting in a very long line 🥴   There was a lot of planning involved to visit South America. The Average flight time from Miami, Florida to São Paulo, Brazil is around 8 hours but because I live in Pennsylvania, flying out of Newark NJ my flight time was approximately 11-12 hours ,not including layover time.  If you are ever able to make a trip to South America I highly recommend doing so!

Not only did I acquire this delicious sourdough starter while being there,  I experienced a trip of a lifetime!
