Hatching Egg Guarantees, Cancellations and ; Fulfillment Timeline
There are no guarantees on hatchability or egg color. Due to the many factors outside of our control once eggs leave our homestead, we cannot guarantee outcomes. Heat kills embryos, shipper handling kills embryos, turners being on in the incubator CAN kill embryos if the eggs were shipped… there are a million factors that play into hatching eggs being shipped, received and incubated that could cause eggs to not develop. Do not purchase hatching eggs if you can’t afford to lose money. We all have lost money including myself and I’m not just talking a couple hundred either more like several thousand dollars to build my flock over the years.
Regarding hatching eggs : We don’t appreciate order cancellations but we do honor them. If you request a cancellation or refund you will be placed on the “ DO NOT SELL TO” LIST. Which means any orders from you in the future will not be honored and will be cancelled in the future WITHOUT a refund. Therefore don’t attempt to make a purchase through the website if you have cancelled and requested a refund in the past for ANY reason!
Regarding Chicks: There are absolutely NO refunds on chick orders when you request to cancel so please think about this prior to making a purchase.
Due to the increased amount of requests to cancel and refund because you changed your mind, don’t have patience, your dog destroyed your incubator , your getting a divorce or circumstances have changed or you just decided to not incubate : yes I’ve heard it all . If, after reading this, you still wish to proceed with cancellation, please note that a $80 Cancellation and Refund Transaction Fee will be deducted from your refund for hatching eggs. Most people genuinely know the rules when it comes to purchasing hatching eggs across multiple breeders so it’s not just here on my farm. To do a refund it costs a percentage for refunding to take place , the headache, and the time . Unfortunately it’s typically the burden of the seller. Most sellers preorder all supplies needed to ship which includes the boxes, tape, packing material , foam and labels etc. in advance for anticipation of shipping your order. Don’t place an order if you can’t read, don’t have patience to wait or don’t follow the rules.
The exception: I have at times refunded payments if I can’t fill an order due to events out of my control. Chickens are live animals and they’re often unpredictable. Dealing with broodiness, extreme heat and humidity as well as molt can set hens back from laying. Daylight savings also affects laying cycles. Therefore I’ve refunded customers for this in the past or often the customer will request to just roll their purchase over to the next laying season.
As stated in our Shipping Agreement, once your package leaves our hands, it is no longer within our control. We are NOT responsible for carrier delays, damage, or handling issues during transit.
Current Wait Times
Our current wait time is approximately 6 months for most eggs and chicks.
Chick orders will be ready between April–June 2027, once temperatures are suitable.
All orders placed in 2026 are expected to be fulfilled by the end of May/June 2027.
I will text you the week before I intend to ship your order to make sure you are ready and available to receive your hatching eggs the following week.
I try to choose the best shipping option for your location. Ive had horrible shipping experience with both USPS and UPS and it’s really just the luck of the draw. I’ve packaged all different methods and the outcome for shipping has been the best with foam . Never zero but still better.
As a small homestead, fulfillment depends on seasonal laying cycles and weather conditions. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through orders carefully and in the order received.
Thank you for supporting our small farm.
