Raw Guernsey Milk in Nostalgic GLASS

Glass containers are wonderful—until they break. 😬

I charge an $18 deposit fee for my GALLON glass jars, though many customers prefer to purchase their own and write their names on the top with a sharpie. These jars are readily available on Amazon. 🫙

While glass is an excellent choice for storage, it’s fragile by nature. No matter how careful someone is, accidents happen. Because of this, I waive the deposit fee the first time a customer breaks a jar. However, any subsequent breakages will incur the full $18 charge every single time one is broken after that.

If breakage becomes a recurring issue, I’ll recommend switching to the UdderBag™ as a more durable alternative.

However For my HALF-gallon glass jars, there is NO deposit fee. The cost of the jar is included in the price of the product. Unlike many raw producers who use deposits, I’ve chosen not to deal with that system. I will likely sell less of them but frankly I’m okay with that . Although there are always people out there who just love the Nostalgic look of these beautiful custom milk bottles. They truly are a labor of love when I spent months making my design from scratch.

As a very small operation, I don’t want the hassle of tracking who paid deposits, who returned jars, and who didn’t—the list goes on. This approach also allows me to purchase more glass inventory while being fairly compensated for my time spent handling, scrubbing, sanitizing, and replacing jars. That said, if you consistently return your half-gallon jars, we can explore an arrangement that benefits both of us. 💛
